Gay Dads in the Queerty Headlines. Right Where We Belong.

Posted by Gaddies on

Because when one gay dad gets recognized, we all do.

Most days, our Google Alert for “gay dads” pulls up stories we love sharing: families breaking barriers, dads redefining what fatherhood looks like.

But on this day, it was our story that showed up in a Queerty featured article: “For the dad in you: How Gaddies is making gay dads impossible to miss.”

It felt like one of those moments where visibility turns personal. Where the story you’ve been trying to tell gets reflected back at you.

It was a powerful reminder that the themes which motivated me to start Gaddies (celebration, visibility, representation) are universal and what makes our story resonate with so many around the globe. That those themes are stories Queerty would like to tell.

It was also a terrifying moment.

An 'OK there is no going back now' moment. My name. My picture. All attached to this idea that started in my head and now lives around the globe.

So I did the most uncomfortable thing I could think of: I sent the article to friends and family. Copy/paste send. Before I could stop myself and fall back into old patterns I shared it.

I was blown away by the love that came back from the Queerty article. In it, I saw exactly why I started Gaddies in the first place—connection, visibility, and pride.

It’s wild to see how far we’ve come in such a short time, and even wilder to think about where we’re headed.

Thanks for being part of the ride. 💛
